Nine Drones Taken out…By Eagles

The air over the goldmines of Western Australia have been a battle ground in the last few months. Mine operators in the area recently began operating Trimble UX5 drones to survey the area only to have them be attacked by local wedge-tailed eagles.

Already nine drones have been taken out and drone operators have turned to camouflaging their drones to look like eagles to avoid attacks.

So far no eagles or humans have been injured, but this event brings up the interesting question on how increased drones operations will affect local wildlife populations.
